In this series, completed in 2017, I explored the narrative implicit in quilt making. Using my fabric portraiture technique, I invited local Seattle community members into my studio, photographed them, and then created portrait quilts out of their clothing they were wearing when they sat for the photograph. I always use second-hand textiles and clothing as the textiles for my quilts, but this series explored the narratives and identity present in clothing, portraiture, and quilt-making.
